Summary
More than 5 million copies of Pokémon Pokopia have sold since its March launch, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company said, making the Switch 2 exclusive one of the platform’s fastest early hits.
That total equals about 21% of the Switch 2’s 23.68 million installed base after five months, showing unusually broad uptake for a life-sim spin-off.
Pokopia now ranks as the second-best-selling Switch 2 game, behind Mario Kart World at 15 million—helped by launch bundling—and ahead of Donkey Kong Bananza at 4.78 million.
For Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force team, which mainly developed the game, the milestone marks a rare hit at this scale; Nintendo is also extending the title with a free update, a paid expansion already out, and two more DLC releases through 2027.
