Summary
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene after a light aircraft was found in a remote area near Trawsfynydd, close to Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd.
Shortly after 12:00 BST, North Wales Police received reports that the aircraft, travelling from an airfield in England, had not arrived at Caernarfon Airport as scheduled.
Air and ground teams from multiple agencies searched the area until the aircraft was located, in what police called a challenging operation.
AAIB investigators have been deployed to examine the crash, while North Wales Police said it would support efforts to establish the circumstances behind the incident.
