Front Office Sports reported the NFL partly coordinated viral training-camp videos of quarterbacks with partners, including Justin Herbert and Madison Beer, to court Gen Z and Millennial women.
That push aims to recreate the Taylor Swift bump: Morning Consult said favorable views of the NFL among surveyed young women rose 11% from July to December 2023, reaching 64%.
NFL executive Ian Trombetta told the outlet the clips were “authentic, genuine and relatable,” while the reported campaign also included Olivia Ponton and Marissa Ayers.
Fans on social media pushed back, with some women calling the tactic insulting and some men criticizing it as staged and “cringe.”
The strategy reflects the league’s search for a post-Swift draw after Chiefs games dominated ratings in 2025, including a 57.3 million-viewer Thanksgiving broadcast.
