Summary
Phoenix police arrested 33-year-old Keondre Simmons after he allegedly came back to the Kierland Commons Shake Shack in uniform two days after robbing it.
Court documents say Simmons called out around midnight on Aug. 3, then later entered through a rear delivery door, held two co-workers at gunpoint and forced the manager to hand over about $2,800 from the safe.
The suspect locked both workers in a walk-in cooler, returned after they escaped, made them kneel in the office and destroyed their cellphones and the store landline in a sink of water before fleeing.
Investigators later identified Simmons, who allegedly told them he discarded the clothes worn in the robbery and that a firearm was inside his residence.
Simmons faces armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping charges, with a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 25.
