More motion events, frequent live viewing and heavy alerts can reduce battery life further, which raises replacement hassle and battery costs over time. That does not mean the deal is bad. For shoppers who mainly want affordable motion-triggered outdoor monitoring and are comfortable either paying for Blink’s ecosystem or accepting limited free features, it can still be strong value. But for buyers specifically trying to avoid ongoing costs, subscription-free rivals from TP-Link, Eufy, Lorex or Wyze may offer better long-term economics, even if the sticker price is higher.
