INDYCAR Delays Markham Start to Aug. 15 as Unfinished Street Circuit Forces Schedule Overhaul

Saturday’s Markham weekend will now begin at 10 a.m. ET on Aug. 15, with two INDYCAR practice sessions and qualifying compressed into a single day after the street circuit was not finished on time.
Green Savoree Racing Promotions is still completing the Streets of Markham build, prompting INDYCAR to keep monitoring construction and to revise both the on-track timetable and U.S. TV windows.
J. Douglas Boles said INDYCAR was “incredibly disappointed” the promoter missed the deadline despite support from series staff, and apologized to fans who had already turned out in Ontario.
Qualifying will use the traditional road-course knockout format because of limited early-evening time, while Sunday race coverage remains scheduled to start at noon on FOX, FOX One and TSN.
