Summary
Tzrifin Base is holding a vast cache of rockets, drones, mortars, sniper rifles and anti-tank launchers that the IDF says it seized from Hamas and Hezbollah during the war that began after Oct. 7, 2023.
Iranian-made weapons featured prominently in the display, alongside Russian, Chinese, Syrian and locally made equipment; the IDF also showed ballistic-missile remnants and said Tehran-backed groups used the arsenal against Israeli civilians and troops.
Hundreds of mortars, dozens of Iranian-produced cannons, rocket-carrying ATVs and motorcycles used in the Oct. 7 hostage assault illustrated how the groups adapted civilian or dual-use gear for combat and raids.
The collection also included two Nazi-era guns seized from Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, which an IDF officer said were likely kept for propaganda or morale value.
The exhibition comes as U.S.-backed talks on disarming Hezbollah and staging an Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon are due to resume in Rome in early September.
