Ubisoft has historically been more conservative than those peers. That said, removal is still possible later if Ubisoft decides the post-launch value of Denuvo no longer outweighs the licensing cost, support burden, or community backlash over DRM. The case for removal is stronger when a game is stable, major launch sales are already booked, and the protection has plainly been bypassed. Reports that Black Flag Resynced runs well on PC may reduce pressure, since performance complaints often accelerate DRM removals. For now, the evidence points to this: the crack weakens the rationale for keeping Denuvo, but Ubisoft’s track record suggests it may leave the DRM in place for months, or even indefinitely, unless it sees a clear commercial reason to strip it out.
