Galaxy User Ditches Gmail for Samsung Email After Missed Alerts and AI Push

Missed email alerts on Gmail pushed a Galaxy user to switch permanently to Samsung Email after a temporary trial became a long-term replacement.
Gmail’s high-priority notification filtering appeared to be the main trigger: All Notifications helped briefly, but sync problems returned and crucial messages were still missed.
Samsung Email won the user over with a cleaner, non-AI interface, quick setup for Gmail and Microsoft accounts, and tools like color-coded inboxes, a unified inbox and a VIP tab.
The app also felt faster on a Galaxy phone and tablet, loading media and attachments more quickly and integrating smoothly with Secure Folder for isolated inboxes.
The switch reflects frustration with Gmail’s Gemini-era design, where disabling AI features is cumbersome because turning off Gemini can affect other Google Workspace apps.
