Summary
Eight countries — UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt — said Israel's rejection of Trump's Gaza roadmap threatens to derail efforts to end the war.
The ministers said Netanyahu's refusal to withdraw troops until Hamas is "genuinely" disarmed amounts to obstructing the plan and urged the Board of Peace and Washington to take immediate steps to protect it.
Jared Kushner and Gaza envoy Nickolay Mladenov were in Egypt on Sunday for ceasefire talks with Egyptian, Qatari and Turkish mediators, and Kushner is due to meet Netanyahu on Monday.
Trump's 15-point plan calls for an Israeli withdrawal in exchange for Hamas and other armed groups disarming, followed by an international stabilization force and a new Palestinian police force in Gaza.
Hamas has signaled conditional acceptance, saying on July 30 it would hand weapons to a new Palestinian governing body under Board of Peace supervision, sharpening pressure on Israel as diplomacy intensifies.
