2080 Games said Gunman Contracts will launch alongside the Steam Frame, reinforcing developer comments that Valve’s standalone VR headset is close to release even though no date or price is public.
ANB_Seth wrote on Discord that the launch is "just around the corner" but said he could not disclose details before Valve, suggesting the studio has internal visibility into the headset’s timing.
Valve has been laying groundwork with a new "Great on Frame" Steam category, a broader compatibility verification program that started in late June, and FCC certification for the device.
Steamworks documentation from June still lists the Steam Frame as shipping in summer 2026, making it the last of Valve’s three planned hardware launches after the Steam Machine and Steam Controller.
