Sweden's July CPI Inflation Slows to 0.2% as Energy Drops Offset Holiday Price Jumps

Sweden’s CPI inflation cooled to 0.2% in July from 0.7% in June, while consumer prices fell 0.3% on the month, Statistics Sweden said.
Electricity prices dropped 11.6% and fuel prices 9.4% from June, driving the monthly decline, but seasonal increases in package holidays, up 17.3%, and car rentals, up 25.7%, offset part of that fall.
The Riksbank’s target measure, CPIF, slowed to 0.7% from 1.3%, while CPIF excluding energy edged up to 0.6% from 0.4%, suggesting underlying price pressure firmed even as headline inflation eased.
Over 12 months, package holidays and restaurant and accommodation services were the main upward drivers, while food prices were 7.4% lower than a year earlier and public transport and dental services also declined.
