Brazil Bond Investors Absorb 62% of July Offerings as R$40.1 Billion Market Reopens

Summary
62% of Brazil’s July corporate bond offerings were placed with investors, the first absorption rate above 60% since February and a clear improvement from 46% in June after four restrictive months.
R$40.1 billion of issuance came to market in July, including R$28 billion of debentures, as banks reduced inventory left on their books and fund redemptions stabilized enough to support new deals.
The rebound remained narrow: low-risk, large issuers such as Axia, Taesa, ISA Energia Brasil and Copel sold bonds, while mid- and high-yield borrowers still struggled to attract demand without higher premiums or shorter maturities.
R$59 billion of additional offerings were underway, but bankers and asset managers said the window is not fully reopened because high interest rates and selective investor appetite still limit access for weaker credits.
The first-half backdrop was still fragile: the number of securities fell 34.9%, issuers dropped to 187 from 225, and investors’ flight to quality pushed issuance toward larger infrastructure and regulated-service names.
