125 new fires were reported nationwide on Aug. 14, including three new large blazes, while firefighters continued battling 88 uncontained large fires.
29,363 personnel were assigned across the country as crews worked to protect communities, critical infrastructure and public lands amid persistently high fire activity.
196 fireline management personnel and three 15-member incident management teams from Australia and New Zealand arrived in Boise earlier this week to support fires in the Northwest and Great Basin.
Canada also sent two large airtankers and one Birddog from Manitoba, adding aircraft support to the U.S. wildfire response.
