Apple Ends 2026 Software Support for Series 6 Watch and 2019 Mac Pro

Apple will drop major 2026 software upgrades for several older devices when iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, macOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27 ship in September.
Affected hardware includes the iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5, iPad 8, first-generation 11-inch iPad Pro, third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple Watch Series 6 through Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch SE, 2019 Mac Pro, 2020 iMac, select 2019-2020 MacBook Pros, and Apple TV HD and 4K.
iPhones are the exception: every model running iOS 26, including the 2019 iPhone 11 lineup, can upgrade to iOS 27, though some older phones will miss AI-heavy features.
Unsupported devices will still work and can keep receiving security patches for years; Apple recently updated iOS 12 in January 2026, but once those patches stop, the devices become riskier to use.
