Summary
Feedly said it released a fix Friday for a web-app slowdown that had dragged on for more than a week and left some paying users calling the service unusable.
The company traced the issue to the “Mark as Read” function on accounts with many folders, and said it is still verifying whether the patch resolves the problem for all users.
CEO Edwin Khodabakchian said RSS remains a priority despite Feedly’s push into AI-driven cyber threat intelligence, after users questioned whether core reader features were being neglected.
Feedly also confirmed it shut down the Feedly Classic mobile app two weeks ago without notifying its few hundred active users, and said it is investigating separate iOS app loading problems.
Could the mysterious slowdowns plaguing Feedly's users secretly stem from the company's aggressive engineering shift toward enterprise AI security tools?
With Feedly quietly killing its classic app, will everyday news readers soon be pushed out to make way for high-paying cybersecurity clients?
