Summary
About 955,000 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles are being recalled worldwide after radio software could stop rearview camera images from appearing, including more than 848,000 in the U.S.
The affected lineup spans 2026 and 2027 model-year Pacifica, Voyager, Charger, Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, Wrangler and Ram 1500, 2500 and ProMaster vehicles.
Stellantis said it knows of no crashes or injuries tied to the defect and told drivers to rely on rearview and side mirrors when reversing until the fix arrives.
Owners will get an over-the-air radio software update, with mailed recall notices starting next month; another 107,000 vehicles are affected outside the U.S., including nearly 83,000 in Canada.
Rearview cameras have been required in new light vehicles in the U.S. since 2018 after regulators cited about 210 back-over deaths and 15,000 injuries a year.
