Sununu Blasts DNC for Pushing New Hampshire Behind Feb. 8 Primary

John Sununu said the DNC wrongly stripped New Hampshire of its first-in-the-nation Democratic primary status, arguing the state lets lesser-known candidates compete through town-by-town campaigning rather than money or name recognition.
The change came after Democrats approved a new calendar that moves South Carolina and Nevada ahead of New Hampshire to give more racially diverse states earlier influence in the nominating process.
Sununu also faulted New Hampshire Democrats, saying Rep. Chris Pappas failed to defend the state's role as he campaigns for the GOP Senate nomination in the Sept. 8 primary.
The dispute revives a long-running tension from 2020, when Joe Biden finished fifth in New Hampshire before rebounding with a decisive South Carolina win that helped secure the Democratic nomination.
