Twenty-nine speeches since Donald Trump’s second inauguration also put her far behind recent first ladies: Michelle Obama gave 130 in a comparable 18-month span and Jill Biden 43.
About 80% of her appearances this year occurred in Washington, and there is no record of her visiting states beyond the East Coast since July 2025, a far narrower travel footprint than predecessors.
The sparse schedule marks a broader pullback rather than a one-year anomaly: she appeared 47 times in 2025 and more than 140 days during the first 18 months of Trump’s first term.
