A macOS Tahoe 26.7 file labels Apple’s camera-equipped earbuds “AirPods Pro,” the clearest sign yet the device may ship under the Pro brand rather than as “AirPods Ultra.”
That label matters because Apple embedded a full video of the new AirPods in the software, making a temporary placeholder name less likely and suggesting the product is nearing launch.
The naming also hints the earbuds may stay closer to the $249 AirPods Pro 3 price point, even though earlier reporting had tied the camera model to a pricier Ultra tier.
Recent reports have pointed to two internal versions—B790 and B798—with B790 said to be closer to debut after Siri AI issues delayed one camera-AirPods effort; the onboard camera is expected to feed visual data to Siri rather than shoot photos.
