Jake Lang Tears Quran at Dearborn Council Meeting as Police Make Several Arrests

Jake Lang was escorted from a Dearborn City Council meeting after tearing a Quran during public comments, after a councilmember told him books and props were not allowed at the podium.
Several people were arrested outside the Henry Ford Centennial Library as police limited entry and used riot officers to break up crowds gathered for a protest before the meeting.
The demonstration followed social media calls for a “Christian Crusader March on Dearborn” organized by Lang and Detroit pastor Lorenzo Sewell, with Lang previously denouncing what he called the “Islamification of America.”
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud used the meeting to reassure residents they belong in the city, while police defended their handling of tensions after Lang was assaulted during an earlier protest and Sewell accused officers of failing to respond.
