FX Greenlights 1 'Legends' Meta-Thriller Reuniting 8 Original Sons of Anarchy Stars

Summary
Charlie Hunnam will lead “Legends,” an FX limited series that reunites eight original “Sons of Anarchy” actors as fictionalized versions of themselves rather than their biker characters.
The meta-thriller follows the cast at a fan convention more than a decade after “Sons of Anarchy” ended, where they face a real-world threat designed to sidestep the fact that several key characters died.
Jonathan Groff is attached as showrunner, while confirmed cast include Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi, with more casting still to come.
Kurt Sutter, who created the 2008-2014 FX drama, is not involved, though reports say he gave Hunnam his blessing after Hunnam spent at least three years developing the project.
The series extends the franchise after spinoff “Mayans M.C.” ran for five seasons through 2023, betting that convention-era cast chemistry can revive fan interest without reviving the original story.
