Summary
88 healthy adults completed Enveda’s Phase I trial of ENV-308 with no serious adverse events and no discontinuations, giving the experimental once-daily “exercise pill” an initial human safety win.
ENV-308 is designed to mimic Lac-Phe—a molecule released during intense exercise and after eating—and Enveda said the drug also showed an “exceptional gastrointestinal safety profile,” a key point against GLP-1 side effects.
Early biomarker data showed lower circulating leptin levels in volunteers, echoing animal findings that suggest the drug could help restore appetite signaling while supporting weight-loss maintenance and muscle preservation.
Enveda plans a larger Phase II trial focused on weight-loss maintenance and is also evaluating ENV-308 for other conditions that may benefit from exercise-like effects, including migraines and inflammatory bowel disease.
