Russian Forces Launch 16 Pokrovsk Breaches as 192 Clashes Hit Ukraine Front

Ukraine’s General Staff said Russian troops mounted 16 assaults in the Pokrovsk sector on Aug. 18, with four battles still underway late in the day near Udachne, Novooleksandrivka and several other settlements.
Across the front, fighting reached 192 clashes as Russia carried out 64 airstrikes with 213 guided bombs, sent 7,033 kamikaze drones and launched 2,263 strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
In Pokrovsk alone, preliminary Ukrainian estimates put Russian losses at 38 killed and 20 wounded; Ukrainian forces also said they destroyed six vehicles, three artillery systems, one fuel depot and 29 shelters.
Heavy pressure extended beyond Pokrovsk, with 12 assaults repelled in the Kostiantynivka sector and 11 in Huliaipole, while fighting also continued in the Sloviansk and Southern Slobozhanshchyna sectors.
The update points to sustained Russian pressure along multiple axes even as Ukraine said its air defenses neutralized more than 70 of 76 drones used in attacks across the country during the day.
