Clifton Williams Faces 2nd-Degree Felony Over 72-Hour Employment Reporting Lapse

$15,000 unsecured bail was set Wednesday for Clifton Laron Williams, 48, after Pennsylvania State Police charged him with failing to report an employment change within 72 hours under the state's sex-offender registry law.
Police said Williams came to the Frackville barracks on Aug. 6 to update his job status and add a new vehicle, admitting he delayed reporting because he wanted to handle both changes at once.
Investigators later found Integrity Staffing Solutions had not employed him since Feb. 10, while Amazon's Hamburg fulfillment center said he was hired July 26 and began work as a picker on July 29.
State police said Williams is a pre-SORNA out-of-state offender and that his registry history shows seven prior active non-compliant statuses dating to 2013, tied to missed verification appearances.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2 in the case filed through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli's office.
