There is also a business reason. A proprietary service means Jackbox is not limited by another platform’s priorities, licensing terms or product roadmap. It can collect a more direct relationship with users, decide how its games are presented, and use Netflix-style partnerships as a discovery tool rather than the final destination. In short, Netflix and Amazon help Jackbox find viewers, but its own smart TV app is meant to turn that audience into direct, low-friction players on hardware they already have at home.
