Biloxi supporters gathered at a church with a “19” balloon, cake and candles to celebrate what would have been Nolan Wells’ 19th birthday while renewing calls for answers in his death.
Wells’ family is still waiting for the investigation to advance after his death following a Fourth of July trip to Horn Island, with his cause and manner of death still unreleased.
Marc Morial and Dr. Jamal Bryant used the service to amplify pressure for action, citing pending toxicology results, a possible grand jury and delays the family says have prolonged uncertainty.
The family’s legal team says it is continuing to seek a full investigation, keeping the case in public view as community support extends beyond Ocean Springs.
