Joy-Anna Duggar Reflects on Marrying at 19 With Austin Forsyth, 4 Years Older

28-year-old Joy-Anna Duggar said on Jinger Duggar’s podcast that marrying Austin Forsyth at 19 brought surprises, even though she felt certain early on that "he's the one."
The 4-year age gap felt bigger because they were young, her sister Jinger said, while Joy-Anna recalled meeting Forsyth at ages 4 and 8 and developing a crush by 14.
The couple started dating just before Joy-Anna turned 18 and married in May 2017, when Forsyth was 23.
Since then, Joy-Anna and Forsyth have had three children—Gideon, 8, Evelyn, 5, and Gunner, 3—and also shared publicly about a 20-week pregnancy loss in 2019.
The discussion follows the couple’s February podcast appearance addressing online rumors that they were expecting a fourth child.
