Virginia Transfer Solomon Beebe Faces 3 Animal Cruelty Charges After Dog Seized

Albemarle County court records show incoming Virginia running back Solomon Beebe was charged with three Class 1 misdemeanor animal cruelty counts, arrested Monday and appearing in district court Thursday.
Aug. 10 and Aug. 12 incidents underpin the case, with an apartment-complex housekeeper telling investigators she saw Beebe hold his pit bull against a wall and punch it repeatedly as it yelped.
Aug. 13, county animal control seized the dog and placed it in protective custody at the SPCA in Albemarle County, according to a prosecutor's petition.
Virginia said it would not comment on an ongoing criminal matter; Beebe, a former UAB running back who posted 338 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2025, had been practicing with the Cavaliers this week.
Aug. 29 is Virginia's season opener against NC State, putting the case over a player newly added to the backfield rotation on the eve of the season.
