Summary
Pixel 11 adds a new Gboard “Suggested” tab that rewrites drafts and offers smart replies using Gemini, tailoring responses to a user’s writing style, current conversation and typing patterns.
Google says the feature draws on typing history and a one-time screen snapshot from supported messaging apps, with processing handled through Private AI Compute on device and in the cloud.
Users can switch Personalized suggestions on or off from a new top-right menu, and the tab disappears when the feature is unavailable for a given app or moment.
Google supports the tool in Google Messages, Google Chat, Line and other chat apps across English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, but not in the EEA.
Pixel 11 also keeps Gboard’s existing rewrite modes—such as Proofread, Professional and Shorten—while adding a “Describe your edit” prompt box for custom text changes.
