Summary
$800 million gave CoStar a completed entry into the new-home construction sector, closing its acquisition of housing data and analytics firm Zonda on Aug. 21.
Zonda brings more than 3,000 customers across builders, developers, lenders and suppliers, giving CoStar an established B2B foothold it says can be paired with its data, analytics and marketing technology.
Consumer-facing platforms NewHomeSource and Livabl also come with the deal, and CoStar plans to upgrade them with Matterport technology acquired in 2024.
The acquisition extends CoStar's push beyond its commercial brands such as LoopNet and Ten-X and residential sites including Apartments.com and Homes.com into a new growth market.
