Android 17 went live on June 16, with Google pushing the update first to Pixel devices and extending early stable support to select Samsung and Motorola models.
Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 generation onward are eligible, while the new Pixel 11 lineup ships with Android 17 pre-installed; Pixel 6 and 6 Pro support effectively winds down before Android 17 QPR2.
Samsung's rollout is still narrow: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 ship with Android 17, while the Galaxy S26 series remains on beta and some older models are expected to miss out.
Motorola has started with the Edge 2025 and says more than 50 devices qualify, as OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Honour continue testing for releases mostly due between September and November.
Gemini Intelligence will not reach every Android 17 phone, because the full AI suite needs at least 12GB of RAM, a recent flagship chip and Gemini Nano v3 support.
