At a club with Tottenham’s expectations, £237m creates pressure as much as promise. If the new signings settle, injuries ease and De Zerbi’s structure becomes clearer over the next few weeks, this result will be seen as a chaotic start to a long rebuild. If the same lack of cohesion, intensity and threat persists, the size of the spend will be used against him, not in his favour.
