Monday marks Michael Penix Jr.'s first full-team work since November surgery after Atlanta cleared the 26-year-old for 11-on-11 practice.
Kevin Stefanski said Penix had already been doing individual, receiver and 7-on-7 periods, but doctors had not yet approved team drills.
That clearance lets the Falcons finally start a true quarterback competition with Tua Tagovailoa after coaches delayed it until Penix was fully healthy.
Friday's final preseason game against Miami remains uncertain, with Stefanski not saying whether Penix will be available.
