Paradox accidentally exposed “Afterworld” in publicly visible forum filter settings and a Discord channel description, giving fans an early look at its unreleased game.
The leak identifies Afterworld as an original post-apocalyptic survival grand strategy title where players lead survivor tribes, recover ancient technology, manage settlements and fight wars and political struggles.
That slip undercut Paradox’s recent teaser campaign on X ahead of the game’s planned full debut at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, where a first trailer is expected.
Afterworld arrives as Paradox tries to reset sentiment after canceling Life by You and drawing criticism over AI use in 2024 Stellaris DLC and what players called thin, overpriced Crusader Kings 3 expansions.
