Lindsay Clancy Jurors Near Deliberations in 3-Child Murder Trial

Closing arguments could begin as early as Tuesday, putting Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial on track for jury deliberations this week after the defense rested.
Dr. Avram Mack, a prosecution rebuttal psychiatrist, testified Clancy was suffering from major depressive disorder—not postpartum psychosis—and knew her actions were wrong, the key issue under Massachusetts’ insanity standard.
Defense expert Dr. Phillip Resnick had told jurors Friday that Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis, command hallucinations and a delusion of influence when she killed 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan in January 2023.
The jury must decide whether Clancy, 36, was criminally responsible; an acquittal would send her to a state psychiatric hospital, while a conviction carries life in prison without parole.
