Samsung, Corning Develop Self-Healing Gorilla Armor for Galaxy S27 Ultra in 2027

Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly being readied with a self-healing Gorilla Armor coating that could smooth out everyday micro-scratches instead of only resisting them.
The rumored layer would target fine wear from pockets or bags, not deep cracks from drops, and is meant to preserve the anti-reflective finish while improving long-term screen appearance.
Neither Samsung nor Corning has confirmed the technology, and the claim comes from tipster @phonefuturist, leaving room for changes before the phone's expected early-2027 launch.
Corning's recent Gorilla Armor generations already claim more than 4 times the scratch resistance of conventional aluminosilicate glass, so the reported shift would move from passive protection to active repair.
LG's 2013 G Flex used self-healing material on its back cover, but applying it to display cover glass would mark a first if Samsung brings the feature to market.
