Summary
Worcester police said a body found Thursday in woods off 189 May St. is believed to be Karen Solomon, the 58-year-old wife of slain Officer Kurt Solomon.
Two Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital workers reported the body, and police also recovered a handgun nearby, Chief Paul Saucier said Monday.
Karen Solomon had been sought since Aug. 18, when Kurt Solomon was found dead at the couple's home with injuries caused by a sharp object; prosecutors called it domestic violence.
Police had issued a warrant charging her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and had searched nearby areas after Ring footage showed her about 1 mile from home that morning.
