AU$219 OpenDots Air earbuds arrive in Australia as Shokz’s cheaper alternative to the OpenDots 2, with the review finding them close in performance despite a lower-tier design.
6.3-gram buds and a 36-hour total battery rating make the open-ear model a lightweight, long-lasting option, while DirectPitch aims to reduce sound leakage and Bassphere boosts bass response.
Sound quality came out only slightly behind the pricier OpenDots 2, with narrower clarity and more muffled bass, while comfort was also a step down because of a stiffer connecting cable.
Daybreak Purple and Black versions are available through Shokz, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and other Australian retailers, with limited-edition accessories offered as a gift with purchase.
