AEG and Archer said an initial feasibility study covering land use, airspace, power and community impact is complete, while work on operations and guest experience is underway; the exact takeoff and landing location is still undecided.
Archer is already mapping a broader Los Angeles network linking SoFi Stadium, USC, LAX, Hollywood Burbank Airport, Santa Monica and Orange County, with Hawthorne Airport as its operating hub.
Downtown L.A.'s role as a hub for 18 Olympic and Paralympic sports could raise the project's profile further, with Archer already named the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Team USA.
