Spectrum Extends Fiber Broadband to 1,700 Montcalm County Locations With $7 Billion Rural Buildout

The project covered parts of 14 townships and was funded partly through Michigan’s ROBIN Broadband Grant program, alongside Spectrum’s broader private rural investment.
Spectrum said its nationwide multi-year initiative is backed by more than $7 billion and aims to add 100,000-plus miles of fiber, reaching more than 1.7 million new locations with symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds.
Residential and business customers in the new service area can get internet speeds up to 1 Gbps, with the company also upgrading its wider network for gigabit upstream and multi-gigabit download speeds.
In a local tie-in, Spectrum also announced a $2,500 donation to EightCAP, linking the broadband expansion to wider economic and anti-poverty efforts in Montcalm County.
