Possibly, but the case is not proven yet. The strongest sign is that the Galaxy S27 Pro appears to be real. GSMA database filings reportedly list a four-phone S27 lineup, including a Galaxy S27 Pro, which suggests Samsung is seriously expanding beyond the usual base, Plus, and Ultra structure. If that holds, the Pro could finally target a gap Android buyers have complained about for years: phones that are smaller than an Ultra but do not sacrifice flagship cameras or premium features. The rumored Pro specs are promising. Leaks point to a roughly 6.47-inch display, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus, 12GB or more of RAM, UFS 5.0 storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W or faster charging. Some reports also say it could inherit Samsung’s Privacy Display and possibly a strong telephoto camera, though zoom details remain inconsistent. On paper, that would make it far closer to an Ultra than to a Plus. That said, “compact” is relative. A 6.47-inch phone is smaller than an Ultra, but it is not truly small by historic standards. The answer also depends on pricing, camera compromises, thermal performance, and whether Samsung keeps meaningful features exclusive to the Ultra, such as the best zoom system or larger battery. So the S27 Pro could be the closest Samsung has come to an uncompromised compact flagship for Android users. But until Samsung confirms the size, camera stack, battery, and price, it is better seen as a credible possibility than a solved problem.
