Dan Stevens Lands 8-Episode RoboCop Lead in Prime Video Series

Dan Stevens will play Alex Murphy and his cyborg alter ego in Prime Video’s eight-episode RoboCop series, marking the first major casting move since Amazon MGM greenlit the project last month.
Peter Ocko writes and showruns the series, which follows a tech conglomerate placing a powerful robot on a city police force using the consciousness of fallen officer Murphy.
Blumhouse Atomic Monster is producing with James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett executive producing, while original RoboCop writers Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner also join as executive producers.
The series extends Amazon’s push to mine MGM franchises after its 2022 acquisition; RoboCop was identified for TV development in an initial batch reported in April 2023.
RoboCop began with Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 film and later spawned 2 sequels and a 2014 remake, with Peter Weller, Robert Burke and Joel Kinnaman previously playing the title role.
