Indian Women to Inherit $763 Billion in 10 Years, Barclays Finds Planning Gaps

$763 billion in wealth is set to pass to Indian women over the next decade, Barclays Private Bank said, calling it one of the biggest intergenerational transfers in the country’s history.
77% of women expecting to inherit have started succession planning, but only 23% of those who already inherited have fully structured plans, highlighting a gap between preparation and execution.
72% review portfolios monthly or quarterly, 86% prioritize long-term wealth creation and 66% take part in investment decisions, indicating women are already active in managing family wealth.
40% plan to favor private equity, venture capital and startups over the next three to five years, yet only 13% are currently invested there, leaving room for advisers as 77% already rely on them.
