T-Mobile to Cut 77 Washington Jobs, Close 7 Stores as Business Needs Shift

77 Washington employees will be laid off between Sept. 21 and Nov. 18, with T-Mobile saying 63 are newly affected and 14 had deferred separation dates from an earlier notice.
7 retail stores in Seattle, Bellingham, Bothell, Vancouver, Tacoma, Yakima and Kennewick are slated to close as the Bellevue-based carrier cites changing business needs and says the cuts are permanent.
Bellevue headquarters staff, remote workers and employees across multiple cities are affected, including product and engineering directors, project and product managers, systems architects, mobile associates and store managers.
Some cuts are tied to relocations, and affected workers may have been offered chances to move, while listed Bellevue headquarters buildings and the Bellingham call center are expected to remain open.
