Nineteen points from Colapinto’s first six Grands Prix this season helped convince Alpine, which said his partnership with Gasly has supported the team’s rise to P6 in the constructors’ standings.
Colapinto joined Alpine as a 2025 reserve before replacing Jack Doohan from the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, then earned a full-season retention and now a further extension.
Gasly was already under contract until at least the end of 2028, and Alpine said locking in both drivers gives it stability as it focuses on building a faster car.
Next weekend’s Italian Grand Prix will be Colapinto’s first chance to run Alpine’s upgraded package, after the team introduced it early on Gasly’s car at Zandvoort.
