Jade Kircus, 36, took the Miss USA stage in Miami on Aug. 27 after deciding to compete again following a miscarriage nearly 16 weeks into her pregnancy in January.
February became the turning point: the Navy veteran said faith pushed her to move forward after grieving, reviving a pageant goal she had first pursued through an open casting call last October.
Kircus is representing Georgia in her first pageant after eight years in the Navy, including two sea tours and a shore assignment at U.S. Central Command, before leaving service in 2020.
The wife and mother of three said military training and motherhood built the resilience she now brings to pageantry, framing a possible Miss USA win as another way to serve the country.
Her run also underscores a broader message she has emphasized throughout the campaign — that it is not too late to chase a new calling at any age or stage.
