Huawei May Replace Nova Ultra With Pro Max in Nova 17, Keeping 200MP Camera

Huawei is tipped to launch the Nova 17 series with a Pro Max model instead of the long-running Ultra variant, extending a 2026 naming shift to the last major lineup that has not adopted it.
SmartPikachu said the Nova 17 would still carry a 200MP camera and a multispectral sensor, while design, battery and chipset details remain undisclosed.
The move would end the Nova Ultra line introduced with the Nova 11 series in 2023, after Huawei kept the Nova 16 family to vanilla, Pro and Ultra despite earlier Pro Max rumors.
Huawei began pushing Pro Max branding from the Mate 80 and across other phones and even tablets last year, a strategy the report says helped lift device sales.
