Leaked Galaxy S27 Pro Renders Show 6.6-Inch Display and 5,200mAh Battery

Q: With rivals already using Samsung’s best camera sensors, will the upcoming S27 Pro finally feature the elusive HP9 lens?

Probably not. The strongest current leaks point to the Galaxy S27 Pro using a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a much more modest 12MP 3x telephoto, not Samsung’s 200MP HP9 telephoto sensor. That matters because the HP9 is specifically designed for telephoto use: it is Samsung’s 200MP telephoto sensor with a large 1/1.4-inch format and in-sensor zoom options. Rival brands including Xiaomi, Vivo, and Honor have already used the HP9 in periscope zoom cameras, which is why its absence from Galaxy flagships has become a recurring criticism. The broader S27 camera rumors do not yet show Samsung reversing that pattern. Several reports say the S27 Ultra may keep only a 50MP 5x telephoto, while the S27 Pro would sit below it with a 3x telephoto that appears far less ambitious. A few conflicting leaks suggest Samsung could equip the Pro with a higher-end 50MP zoom camera, but none credibly point to the HP9 specifically. The most evidence-backed answer, then, is that the S27 Pro is unlikely to get the HP9. Samsung appears to be positioning the Pro as a smaller Ultra-style phone with a flagship 200MP main sensor, not as the model that finally brings its best in-house telephoto hardware home. Until Samsung confirms the hardware, some uncertainty remains. But based on the current leak trail, the elusive HP9 still looks more likely to stay with Samsung’s competitors than to appear in the Galaxy S27 Pro.
