Klint Kubiak still would not name a Week 1 starter after Las Vegas' preseason finale, even with Kirk Cousins widely viewed as the clear favorite over rookie Fernando Mendoza.
110.2 is Cousins' preseason passer rating after he went 13 of 17 for 101 yards and a touchdown, including 8 of 11 in Thursday's first-quarter stint.
Mendoza's case weakened as he threw interceptions in back-to-back games and completed just 5 of 9 passes Thursday, while Kubiak said the rookie would take backup reps and still needs development.
Sept. 13 against Miami is the target opener, and Kubiak has said he is withholding the announcement partly to keep players from getting comfortable with their roster status.
